Amorphous - wallglazes can create the illusion of depth and movement on a surface. However, when the glaze creates the appearance of depth without movement, it’s called “Amorphous.”
Depth - wallglazes can create the illusion of depth on a surface that is actually flat and smooth.
Glaze is a translucent mixture of pigment, glazing liquid, and water-based or alkyd solvent
Level 5 - refers to the highest generally accepted standard for substrate preparation.
Mottle - is a technique that softens (blurs) sharp edges in the finish before the glaze dries
Movement - wallglazes can create patterns that draw the eye in a specified direction. That phenomenon is called “movement.”
Process - refers to the number of individual steps required to execute the finish. Each step requires an overnight dry upon completion.
Prepared Surface - refers to the work that must be executed in by others before our work begins. This includes:
Preparation of the substrate to meet Level 5 standards
Application of a primer followed by two coats of the specified basecoat color.
Scumble - is the generally accepted term for the technique used to execute a broken-colored finish that creates the illusion of depth and movement.
